Taxi Driver

USA - 1976
Location: New-York
Theater(s): Lyric, Empire, and others on 42nd street

This tale of cab driver, moviegoer (only for porn), who runs amock, has become a classic.

In a scene, Travis (Robert De Niro) takes his new girlfriend to the Lyric (great idea!), which had a wonderful sign back then (even better!), to see some soft porn (not as good!); she doesn't seem to like it.

When the two leave the theater, the Cine 42 can be seen on the other side of the street; it played Clint's "The Eiger Sanction".

Behind Travis who vainly tries to repair his terrible choice, on the right when exiting the Lyric, the sign of the Times Square:

On the left, a part of the Victory's sign, which had seen better days too (only one word seen on the sign, "Sexuality"; they knew how to sell movies back then...):

During the end credits, on the sound of Bernard Herrmann's music, the sign of the Harris:

The outside scenes of the main theater in Last Action Hero were shot in front the Empire; the Times Square and the Cine 42 also appear in it, as well as the Lyric (very briefly).
